All roads led to Mexico 2024. After time traveling from Asia to Mexico City, la primavera was in full bloom as I learned to make the city my new home for the next 6 weeks (learning Spanish along the way…)

The Kenya playlist that brought the rhythm, dancing and tears of joy to the most amazing seven weeks of my life.

The Eddie Murphy land of Zamunda and the set of HBO’s White Lotus collided as our luxurious dreams were made a reality. Lindsey and I spent our final days of East Africa in Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam, bringing new flavor to the moniker “Rich Auntie”.

Jumping with the Maasai and watching kids jump off cliffs, led us to a secret part of Moshi that has yet to be discovered, on our second day in the Kilimanjaro Region of Tanzania.

Visiting Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro region and hiking Africa’s tallest mountain is the butter of any life’s to-dos. The day had finally come for Lindsey and I to ink it off the bucket list, full of energy and excitement - but first, we had to get there…

It might have been my last week in Kenya, but the adventure was truly just picking up speed. Lindsey arrived from Nairobi and the energy of Kenya continued to blow my mind on every level!

Three days in Kenya’s Tsavo East and West National Park on a mission to see the Big 5! Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffalo and yes, Rhinos too!

Eight strangers; voluntarily choose to live in a mountainous jungle- Have monkeys stalk their rooms, create daily adventures and be forever bonded in the very Real World of Kilifi.

The exciting conclusion of my adventures in Vietnam with the finale in Sapa and HaLong Bay, complete with fails and fortune in between.

The adventures continued in Da Nang and Hanoi, experiencing rich history and the rich sauces of life changing meals, all on the action back itinerary only a third of the way complete.

It would take me a while to grasp the multiple-meanings of “solo” in Solo Travel, and the power shift I would soon find. I’ve always been drawn to Morocco, the desert specifically, and what I soon found is that I am never alone, and the draw of the desert would only grow stronger.

This trip to Vietnam was a gift of happenchance that honestly, would have taken me years to pull off on my own. A trip to have custom clothes made was something I didn’t imagine for myself until at least 40 years old. My homegirl Molly told me in Kenya, she already had the perfect itinerary queued up - a long overdue re-do from years before . But this trip was more than five-star hotels and Michelin Stars - it was a shake up on my ignorance as an American born after 1975, and an opportunity to put on new lenses for the people of a country who know more about centuries of war than I ever dare try to “western-splain”.
